Microsoft Surface Supports 8 USB Devices Connected at the Same Time (Video)

Well here’s an interesting experiment to perform on a tablet: connect as many accessories as you can and use them at the same time. This was done recently by the guys of ChannelMetroTV to the Surface Tablet, connecting a maximum of 8 devices to it, all of them being fully supported by the slate.

The idea is to use a SUB hub with its own power supply here, as Microsoft itself explains. Among the devices connected here we find a Xbox controller, an iPod, a Nokia phone, , a printer, a mouse, a webcam and external had drive, plus an USB stick or two. The list of compatible items with Windows RT is quite huge and it includes the Microsoft Xbox 360 wireless game controller, HP printers, Western Digital media players, Ethernet adapters, headsets, plus a ton of cameras, media players and input devices.

Let’s see you do that on the iPad or an Android tablet… I guess there may be some workarounds for those as well, but none as efficient as this one, shown in the video below. Of course, some people may say that USB is so early 2000s…
