A common criticism of Android tablets is that the available apps are not optimised for larger screens. I’ve seen many reviews, typically in the mainstream media rather than tech sites, that say that Nexus tablets should be avoided on this basis.
But this level of journalism is now starting to look uninformed, if not plain lazy. Every week I am getting updates to my installed apps and typically I am seeing comments in the what’s new section remarking on how they are now updated for HD tablet screens and Jelly Bean too.
I get that there are still plenty of apps that need improvement but remember that iPad apps weren’t updated overnight either, and many of those are still waiting for a refresh!
However the updates are coming through and don’t forget the clean looking and will presented preloaded Google suite which was available from day 1. Remember these guys built a multi billion pound empire on their ability to make simple functional products (they’re no Microsoft!).
