Asian site eprice.com has managed to somehow score the brand new Pantech Vega R3 for testing purposes and they performed a few interesting benchmark tests on it. For those of you who don’t know, the Vega R3 is a phablet with a 5.3 inch diagonal and a Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset. This phablet aims at rivaling the likes of Galaxy Note II and HTC J Butterfly, plus a few other Asian models, like Oppo Find 5 or Sharp’s latest phablet.
This newcomer offers a quad core Krait CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz, with 2 GB of RAM and Adreno 320 GPU. We’ve seen such CPU choice on popular models like LG Optimus G, LG Nexus 4, ASUS PadFone 2 and many more, but this time the benchmarks are very impressive. The device scores 13,789 points in AnTuTu, surpassing every other model out there, while in Quadrant, it takes down the 7000 points barrier with 7547 scored. In Vellamo it gets 1890 points (new Vellamo that is), in the HTML5, passing the HTC One X and Galaxy S III, while in the Metal test it’s ranked below some new models like Razr i.
The NenaMark 2 result brings us back to normal values, like 57.1 FPS, passed by both the Galaxy S III and Note II. Other tests performed by ePrice included download speed test, as well as upload, with the first happening at 32.25 Mbps, while the upload gives you a speed of 13.72 Mbps. The network latency is 36 ms. You should also know that the Pantech Vega R3 will feature a bit 2,600 mAh battery, that promises 14 hours of talk time and a crazy good charging time of 100 minutes, said Pantech.
